GMTK Postmortem


We ended up having a lot of initial success getting the basics down for the game. Moving, shooting, spawning, destroying and then we ran into trouble getting things like animating a dissolve for when the ghosts die and getting multiple spawns to happen without things breakingn. In the end we kept it pretty bare bones but we're happy that we developed the game much faster than any of our previous endeavors for a game jam!

Things I wish we could've included:

A system for player health

A hit detection system+graphic for what direction the player is taking damage (Basically just damage feedback which is very much lacking in the game)

An animation or particle effect for when the ghosts die

A tiny tutorial prompt telling you to pickup the gun, then when you do, ghosts spawn

Get Roll for Initiative
